Dr. Yoni Furas

From a young age I was fascinated by history and the people who made it. This interest led me to the study of the social and cultural history of the modern Middle East. My first book told the story of Musa Kazim al-Husayni who I see as the father of the Palestinian national movement. My second book focused on the history of education, Palestinian and Hebrew pedagogical thought in the late Ottoman and mandate period. Like most historians, I love the archive, the library and old books, but even more so, I love meeting people and talk to them about their personal and familial history and find the links between the personal and the social.
