I got my MA in Cologne, Germany, in Middle Eastern Sciences, Cultural Anthropology and Education, and wrote the thesis based on a short field-work in Cairo with youth. The title of my PhD project is: Palestinian Youth from East Jerusalem volunteer in Magen David Adom in Jerusalem: Agency by young Palestinian Volunteers and Encounter with Jewish Youth in an Israeli Organization. It is supervised by Dr. Ido Shahar and focuses on young Palestinians from East-Jerusalem who volunteer in MDA, Israel’s national rescue organization. The research includes participant-observation (EMT course and volunteering in shifts of ambulances, Corona and vaccination), talks and interviews.
